First results of the basic income experiment to be published on 8 February

 

Prime Minister Juha Sipilä's Government implemented a basic income experiment in Finland in 2017–2018. The first results of an evaluation study about the experiment are now complete. The results will be presented at a seminar on Friday, 8 February 2019, between 8.30 and 10.30.

 

Journalists are welcome to attend the event at Säätytalo, "House of the Estates" (Snellmaninkatu 9-11, Helsinki).

 

Ministers Pirkko Mattila (Minister of Social Affairs and Health) and Anu Vehviläinen (Minister of Local Government and Public Reforms) will speak at the event.
The results of the basic income study will be presented by

, scientific leader of the study and Professor of Practice at the University of Turku,
Ohto Kanninen
, research coordinator at Labour Institute for Economic Research,
Minna Ylikännö, Senior Researher at Kela, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland.
